PRP stimulates hair follicles to grow hair and helps to thicken hair rather than growing it from a bald spot. PRP is injected into the scalp to stimulate hair growth. One of the many reasons PRP is becoming an increasingly popular hair loss treatment is that there are little to no side effects. Typically, hair loss patients will see the most results in 3-6 months.
PRP Therapy is a 3-step medical treatment in which a person’s blood is drawn, processed, and then injected into the scalp.
STEP 1: Your blood is drawn and put into a centrifuge.
STEP 2: The centrifuge separates your blood into 3 layers: platelet-poor plasma, platelet-rich plasma and red blood cells.
STEP 3: The platelet-rich plasma is put into a syringe and then injected into areas of the scalp that need increased hair growth.
Most PRP Therapy requires 3 treatments 4–6 weeks apart.
Maintenance treatments are required every 4–6 months.
