Chemotherapy treatment takes a lot out of you. As it attacks cancer cells, it also affects the rest of your body, making you susceptible to other illnesses and lowering your quality of life. Vitamin C is one of the most vital nutrients in preventing other ailments and viruses, so you must ensure your levels remain as high as possible during treatment.
As soon as you start cancer treatment, IV Elements will be happy to administer this drip. Since it targets the immune system, it can help with inflammation caused by treatment while restoring your vitamin C levels. Vitamin C also plays a major role in mood and energy levels, so you can expect to feel better mentally, too!
Studies backed by the U.S. National Library of Medicine have shown that intravenous administration of antioxidants like vitamin C can take down cancer cells without damaging the healthy cells around them. Patients that receive high-dose vitamin C can expect fewer side effects from treatment and have a better chance of getting back to normal life in between treatments.
Studies have suggested that intravenous High Dose Vitamin C, at the proper concentration, can result in destruction of cancer cells without harming healthy cells. Many patients who receive High Dose IV Vitamin C nutritional therapy, along with traditional cancer care, can live fuller, more vibrant, energetic lives and suffer fewer side effects. It can be used safely in conjunction with chemotherapy and radiation in certain situations in which the patient’s oncology team is aware of and has agreed to incorporate Vitamin C into the treatment regimen.
According to the U.S. NATIONAL LIBRARY OF MEDICINE, “Researchers have made massive strides over the last 20 years and have addressed many of these important aspects, such as the best route for administration, safety, interactions with chemotherapy, quality of life, and potential mechanisms of action. Although Vitamin C is often considered a good marker of fruit and vegetable intake, the vitamin has essential functions within the body, including integral roles in various anti-cancer mechanisms. Because of the pleiotropic functions of Vitamin C, optimizing its levels in the body through diet and supplementation is likely to be of benefit to oncology patients.”
One of the most famous forerunners of High Dose Vitamin C IV treatment for disease prevention was Dr. Linus Pauling, a two–time Nobel Laureate.
Dr. Linus Pauling proposed that Vitamin C could be used to treat cancer and his studies conducted in the 1970s and 1980s suggested the use of oral doses up to 10 grams/day were helpful in increasing the survival time and improving the quality of life of terminal cancer patients. Today’s most recent studies using the intravenous route of administration are showing promise to Paulings’ theories.
Over the years, IV Elements has worked with many cancer patients seeking an alternative method of treating cancer and enhancing their current regimen. We've developed two drip formulas that add a boost to the immune system and fight against cancer cells — High-Dose Vitamin C and Mistletoe Therapy.
Before Starting High-Dose Vitamin C Intravenously, we offer and order these lab tests:
Inherited condition that is extremely rare but if it exists, then high doses of vitamin C will cause red cells to split open
Complete blood count tells us about red and white blood cell levels.
Assessing Creatinine and BUN (Blood Urea Nitrogen) are important to determine kidney function.
This indicates systemic inflammation.
Helps understand liver and gallbladder health.
Overall profile health assessment.
If you have any of these labs completed in the last year, they will not need to be repeated.
Once we receive the G6PD lab results and it is normal, we then proceed with the following:
Please wait one week for results.
As our cancer clients are a top priority, please give us 2-3 days notice so we can accomodate day and time appointments.
For those wanting to optimize vitamin C levels in the body and to know how many grams of vitamin C will be effective we can test the level of vitamin C in the blood after the IV.
There is no reason to do this before beginning intravenous vitamin C because everyone is deficient. After the third high dose vitamin C infusion, we can use our glucose meter with an optimal reading being 350mg/dL since the meter registers glucose and vitamin C in the same way.
We recommend eating before coming for the IV as many clients experience low blood sugar and this helps. Bring a snack. It is advisable to use oral vitamin C on the days between the vitamin C IVs.
