10 Pass Ozone Therapy Benefits

If you’re interested in ozone treatments, you’ve probably heard of 10-pass ozone therapy, also known as hyperbaric ozone therapy. While traditional ozone therapy involves drawing blood, exposing it to an oxygen-ozone mixture, and reinfusing it just once, the 10-pass method repeats this process 10 times in a single session. The repeated cycling exposes your body to a larger amount of ozone. That’s why some integrative health practitioners recommend this method to patients who want maximum benefits. Here’s what you should know about those benefits and where to get 10-pass ozone in NJ, NYC, and Philadelphia.
Important: 10-pass ozone therapy is not FDA-approved for the treatment of any condition. Always consult a licensed healthcare provider before starting any new treatment.
Why is 10-pass more powerful than regular ozone?
In alternative medicine settings, 10-pass ozone therapy is often considered more powerful than standard ozone therapy (also called major autohemotherapy or MAH) because it repeatedly exposes the blood to an oxygen-ozone mixture during a single treatment session.
Also, unlike MAH, the 10-pass method uses a specialized system that pressurizes the oxygen-ozone mixture as it’s combined with the blood. The increased pressure makes it easier for the mixture to dissolve into the blood with each pass, resulting in a higher cumulative ozone dose than MAH.
Because it involves a higher dose, some people think 10-pass ozone therapy may be more effective and produce stronger benefits than other ozone treatments, though more research is needed.
What are the benefits of 10-pass ozone therapy?
While studies are ongoing, some alternative medicine practitioners think that 10-pass ozone therapy may support cellular energy production, improve antioxidant defense, and influence immune response, inflammation, and oxygen metabolism. They claim these effects could lead to certain health benefits:
Stronger immune system
Some researchers think that 10-pass ozone therapy may strengthen the immune system by creating a small amount of temporary oxidative stress that could trigger chemical signals that affect immune cells.
Improved antioxidant defenses
Ozone may support the body’s natural antioxidant defenses, which help neutralize free radicals (unstable molecules that can damage cells).
Increased energy
Because 10-pass ozone therapy might support oxygen utilization and antioxidant response, some wellness practitioners claim it might boost energy by helping cells make energy more efficiently.
Less inflammation
Since it may affect oxidative stress and immune function, 10-pass ozone therapy is also sometimes said to help reduce inflammation by balancing the body’s inflammatory responses.
In particular, ozone might reduce pro-inflammatory cytokines — proteins that play a role in cell signaling. These proteins affect musculoskeletal disorders like rheumatoid arthritis, which is why some people with those conditions seek ozone therapy. But researchers are still investigating ozone’s role in inflammation.
Better brain function
Some practitioners theorize a connection between improved oxygen delivery and cognitive function, but no studies have specifically tested 10-pass ozone therapy for cognitive outcomes.
Enhanced circulation
While more studies are needed, some practitioners say 10-pass ozone therapy could improve red blood cell flexibility and allow blood to flow more easily through small vessels. This benefit could potentially help people manage circulatory conditions like peripheral artery disease (PAD), though more research is needed.
Faster recovery
Many of our patients incorporate 10-pass ozone therapy into their post-workout recovery routines because of its potential effects on oxygen utilization, antioxidant response, circulation, and inflammation. These effects could reduce fatigue and help you feel reenergized faster.

Can 10-pass ozone therapy treat health conditions?
While the FDA has not approved 10-pass ozone therapy to treat any illness, some integrative wellness clinics promote it as a way to help people manage certain health conditions, including:
- chronic fatigue
- fibromyalgia
- chronic infections
- autoimmune conditions
- Lyme disease
- musculoskeletal disorders
- circulatory conditions
- respiratory conditions
- mold-related illness
However, more research is needed to determine if the 10-pass method can actually help treat these conditions. You should only try the therapy after talking to your healthcare provider, and you should always use it alongside conventional FDA-approved treatments for your condition.
How many sessions are needed?
The number of 10-pass ozone sessions you need depends on your treatment goals:
- Wellness/energy support: 1–3 sessions weekly or monthly
- Chronic condition support: 10+ sessions, often starting weekly and then tapering to less frequent maintenance sessions
All session schedules are completely personalized. To help you find the ideal schedule, IV Elements offers comprehensive consultations where we discuss your current health, treatment goals, availability, and budget to ensure your session frequency meets your needs.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does 10-pass differ from MAH?
Ten-pass ozone therapy differs from MAH (major autohemotherapy) because it involves more than one cycle of drawing blood, exposing it to an oxygen-ozone mixture, and reinfusing it. While MAH includes just one of these cycles, 10-pass ozone therapy includes ten of them. That means the 10-pass method exposes your blood to a higher cumulative dose of ozone than MAH. It also pressurizes the oxygen-ozone mixture, helping it dissolve into the blood more easily. Some practitioners claim these effects make the 10-pass method more effective, but more research is needed.
What is 10-pass ozone good for?
While research is ongoing, some integrative health practitioners believe 10-pass ozone therapy may help improve immune function, energy, brain function, antioxidant defenses, circulation, and recovery. It may also reduce inflammation and help people manage certain health conditions (such as chronic fatigue, Lyme disease, and autoimmune conditions) when used alongside conventional FDA-approved treatments.
What conditions respond best to 10-pass?
Although the FDA hasn’t approved 10-pass ozone therapy to treat any health condition, it’s often used in integrative care settings to help people manage conditions like chronic fatigue, chronic infections, Lyme disease, respiratory conditions, musculoskeletal disorders, and mold-related illness. More research is needed to confirm if ozone treatments can actually help treat these conditions.
How long does a 10-pass ozone therapy session take?
Most 10-pass ozone therapy sessions take about 60 minutes to 2 hours, though some may be shorter or longer depending on your needs and the clinic you go to.
Does 10-pass ozone therapy have side effects?
Some people who get 10-pass ozone therapy have side effects like headache, fatigue, nausea, or soreness at the injection site. These effects are usually mild and go away within a few hours. At IV Elements, we aim to reduce the risk of side effects by evaluating your health history before starting treatment and by fully supervising all treatments.

10-Pass Ozone Therapy
Ozone directly reduces blood pathogens including bacteria, viruses and molds. Ozone increases white blood cell activity, stem cell production and mitochondrial activity within cells which promotes cellular detoxification of accumulated residues.
