IV Elements is certified by the Physicians’ Association for Anthropic Medicine (PAAM) in mistletoe therapy.
Founder Rebecca LaMarca completed a nearly 30-hour mistletoe and integrative oncology course hosted by PAAM in Atlanta in February 2023 to become a certified mistletoe provider.
She’s currently completing an apprenticeship program to be a Believe Big provider. Believe Big is a Maryland-based nonprofit that bridges the gap between conventional and complementary medicine to provide holistic care at the physical, emotional and spiritual level.
Getting hands-on mistletoe experience in Germany
In September 2024, Rebecca spent two weeks in Germany learning about mistletoe therapy. She visited Helixor Heilmittel GmbH, an anthroposophic company based in Filderstadt that focuses on manufacturing and distributing mistletoe and Christmas rose.
Rebecca also visited Filderklinik Community Hospital, one of nine hospitals in Germany that offers not only conventional medicine and oncologic treatment, but also anthroposophic medicine options, including mistletoe IV therapy.
Visiting Abnoba and Klinik Öschelbronn
Later in the trip, Rebecca traveled to Niefern-Oeschelbronn to Abnoba and Klinik Öschelbronn.
Abnoba is a research-based pharmaceutical manufacturer that produces and sells mistletoe, specifically a viscum commonly used for intratumoral injections called Fraxini. As IV Elements treats many solid tumor patients, specifically breast cancer patients, it was a great experience to learn more about all the intratumoral and lymph node injections performed with different types of mistletoe in Germany.
Klinik Öschelbronn is an outpatient facility that uses Abnoba products in conjunction with conventional medicine treatments for cancer patients, in addition to hyperthermia and other anthroposophic medicine. Klinik Öschelbronn works with Abnona to produce many mistletoe research studies that help support integrative therapy for cancer patients.
